«Strolling with Paint on Canvas» (Symptoms of Life)
2025
Pigment on raw linen | painted from the reverse | 2025 | 102 × 82 cm | 40 x 32 in
Islands of colour sit on the raw linen: dense cores, fringed halos where the liquid travelled through the weave, and runs that follow gravity. The paintings in this series are made on the reverse side of raw linen, without seeing the image as it forms. Pigment and binder penetrate the weave; what appears on the front is decided by material, gravity, time and gesture as much as by the painter. What each intervention has done becomes visible only once a layer has dried and the canvas is turned — a rhythm of acting, waiting and observing.
